I have had 3 Explorer Sports. Loved them. Paid cash for this 2001. Every option, but block heater. Almost $31,000.00 new. All were and are great SUV's. If they still made as 2 door, I'd consider one..… - 5.0
Best Ford car I've had
By Barbara | on 5/3/2022 7:22:46 PM
This car has held up great. Taken on trips. Got the 2 doors because I didn't want extra passengers. Only did regular maintenance. Still have it, don't want to give it up. Every time it gets a tune-up someone wants to know if I would sell it. Perfect for trips, wheelbase allows you to turn around in center of street. Drop back seats down and can load up from Home Depot. Carried just about everything, Easy to drive and maintain. Took care of it and it's taking care of me.… - 4.0
Good Value, for a free car..!?
By Sebster 96 | on 2/16/2022 6:41:09 AM
This car fell into my hands, for free after a wildfire..for an uncontrollable "18 year old man" but also not being a Ford guy, this was an interesting combo. The one I have specifically has 4wd which is good for the winter climate my mom & I live in, since now we only have one working car, I've gotten a good chance getting to know this car the past month. Most notably, it's slow. Highway driving involves a little more effort to keep going at higher cruising speed (65 for example) where it would rather coast at 50 with no pressure on the gas pedal. I also wish it got better gas mileage, I don't know what I get specifically with my more "safe driving" but on a full tank I could probably get 300+ w/ no A/C and 95% highway/freeway driving . Otherwise, it's a decent car, I'm able to maneuver it pretty easily, it's comfortable enough where you'll survive, bumps are kind of scary and so are taking turns too fast- keep that in mind. It's normal 2000's Ford materials and such, so cheap plastic and other cheaper feeling materials as well as panel aligning (at least for me) could be a possible issue if you pay attention to it- inside & out. "It'll get you to point A, and maybe point B, but don't go to point C" It might make it, but I don't want to push it...this car has been through alot, so I'll continue driving it until it doesn't want to..…
